I had a Cobra that didn’t tell me when a patrol had a speed gun pointed right at me so I went for a up grade. So far it has let me know every time when there has been a patrol presents.

I’ve had the Cobra XRS for about a month now. So far I’ve seen 2 or 3 highway patrol and this little guy picked them up really far away. I love how it automatically gets a little quieter after the first couple warnings. Nice when you are focused on the road and don’t want to turn it down manually. Ya, it does go off near automatic doors but I don’t really mind it. Buy it.

This detector works great!! Took me from Chicago to Seattle with no tickets!! I used the POP feature and wow I knew there was a cop before they could see me! I also loved the speedy delivery. I would recomend this item for the busy traveler.

I bought this item for a trip out to Indiana from New Jersey. The mechanism designed to keep it in place itself was bad and poorly/cheaply made. After placing that in multiple locations and finally settling on one place in the center of the windshield I wanted to see what It would do. The honest assessment was very little. It was set off sporadically by speed signs that document your speed, and radio towers. Every speed trap besides one went unnoticed by this detector. POP mode went off but there was nothing more (I am still not sure I understand it.) Nevertheless, I think I will be returning this one for a more reviewed item.

Best of luck with the Unit if you choose to keep it!

This is the first radar detector that I have purchased and I am very satisfied with the product. I bought it based on the price and the good reviews that followed. The detector goes off every now and then for me when I drive by certain gas stations, because their doors set it off, but it doesn’t keep beeping or anything. The times that I have seen cops, it lets you know from quite a bit away that their radar is near. I have had no problems with connections or functionality. I would only recommend spending a lot more money on a radar detector if you are doing some serious speeding all the time.

For those of us that like to speed every now and then and have gotten tickets for it, this is a great product to help ease getting caught speeding.

I have been using this product for well over 3 months already n at first it was not senstive bit when I started to play around with the setting I found it to be very senstive… When I first got it had a hard time picking up the ka band. But since now I have set it up the right way. I usually pick up the ka band from 2 to 3 miles away. And the laser from a cop about a mile away. It’s a really good radar detector and I recommend you to get it but I will say you have to play with the settings before you use it. If anyone has any questions just as me I’ll glady help you out…

  6. Edelberg says:

I recently bought the Cobra XRS 9345 14 band radar/laser detector for a road trip from upstate NY down the Jersey shore to Wildwood, NJ, about a 6 hour ride. During that time this product worked great 50% of the time, and the other 50% it was a complete let down. The biggest shock of this product was it’s changing range of operation. Sometimes it would pick up a police car sitting 1-2 miles up the road. Other times it would not go off until I was 20 feet from the cop car. The X band goes off way too much, often false alarms, and the K band really never goes off. The laser gun also seems to have terrible range. I visibly saw the state trooper aiming the laser gun at me and the dectector still took another 3-5 seconds to go off. However, as mentioned, sometimes it works great. On the trip there was a large curve in the highway, with a police car hiding behind a wall about a mile down the curve. The Kc Band went off a solid .5 miles before I even saw the cop, giving plenty of time to slow down. Overall, you’re taking a 50-50 chance with this product based on my opinion.

  7. Jameson says:

Nice price, works well so far. Esay to set up. I am not using it a lot because I usually don’t drive too fast. Bought it after getting a speeding ticket. I only use it on highway while driving faster than 65 mph. It beeped a couple of time, but haven’t seen a cop so far. It beeps when you go through EZ pass or sth. You could say it is a little sensitive, but it is totally acceptable. Good buy, I would say, if you only need it for precaution on highway.

  8. Dennison says:

Ive been using radar detectors for sometime, and for the money, this is a no go. The “extreme range” the product says it has is very limited. The radar detector was not picking up signal until 1/8th to 1/4th of a mile from the police car. For that matter even at point blank range, the signal strength was only registering a 1. City mode will only pickup a 3 (max 5)or higher signal, but again a 1, and sometimes not even registering when you could reach out and touch the police car in an obvious radar shooting situation. That said,it did work at times but was rather inconsistent. Highway mode in the city will drive you crazy as the 14 bands are not necessary, and most police are on the x band anyhow. That said the mounted position may be the problem, in the past I have always mounted from the windshield as this one is mounted to the dash. Thus, if you do by this product I reccomend you mount from the windshield as the dash mount does not allow the product full field of view.

  9. Ignacio says:

Beware! Although solid construction, it is essentially useless as a windshield mount, as it obstructs the antenna. That said, the dash option is not better. The adhesive strips are weak, cause my radar detector and mount to fly off the dash numerous times.

The option around this is to obtain some auto repair shop trim tape. It is pretty strong and will do the job better.

If that weren’t enough, be sure to use a windshield sun screen on warm days, because that stupid mounting disc will curl up better than a newborn infant.

Save your money and shop around more!

  10. Jamieson says:

Great suction on wind shield. Supports most radar detectors. Can take a little work to position level using velcro attachment on the flat mount.

  11. Garzio says:

Really regret that I purchased this. I needed to mount a radar detector on my dash, and used the circular mounting plate. Even in just moderate sun, in two days the plate warped severely. When I tried to move it to another spot, the whole thing broke in two! Not surprising for a cheap piece of plastic. This is cheap junk — at least the dash mounting piece. In terms of radar detectors, using this product to mount on a windshield is also useless, as the mounting piece that attaches to your windshield is so large, it will degrade your radar detector — since it will either partially or entirely block it’s forward “view”. This is going in my trash can. Money wasted.

  12. Berg says:

Product worked well for about a month. But then the plastic mounting plate warped from the sunlight (was just sitting on the dashboard). The suction cup no longer attaches to the mounting plate so it no longer works. Very cheap and poorly designed. I would NOT recommend purchasing this product.

  13. Chamberlain says:

There is no reason to spend lots of money for a good detector. The Beltronics V940 is absolutely the most reliable detector I’ve ever had. It detects real K band a mile away from the cop. Lazer detection is very accurately as well.

After going through different brands of detectors, I finally found one that I can depend on.
